Genesis

In the year 1946, Smt. Sunandamma, an ardent devotee of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, established the Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba Mahila and Makkala Koota Trust with the guidance and blessings of Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

In the year 1957, she started Sri Sathya Sai Baba Shishu Vihara (Nursery School) and Higher Primary School. Her aim was to inculcate Indian Culture and Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s Spiritual-based Education.

We are proud to state that ours is the first Sathya Sai Trust and the first Sathya Sai School in the world.

In the year 1962, the land on which the school is presently functioning was allotted by MUDA.

On 15th September 1963, Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba himself laid the foundation stone for the school building.

Smt. Sunandamma, in her will, has bequeathed the Trust, School and her movable and immovable properties to Baba and he has graciously accepted her offerings.

The authority to monitor the functioning of the school was entrusted to Sri Sathya Sai Trust Karnataka at Bangalore and they have been sincerely and diligently guiding us since then. In the year 1963, in his address to the Trustees, Baba said and we quote, “The orange is quite bitter when it is green but time gradually sweetens it into a delicious fruit. Similarly, for good times to arrive, it takes over 50 years. Patience and strenuous effort will get rewarded.”

His prophesy has come true. It’s been 50 years now, and our Institution has substantially grown and still prospering, with the support of Sri Sathya Sai Central and State Trust. We now boast of an Institution with high-quality infrastructure which hosts over 500 students from Pre-KG to High School.

Our School functions in a three-storey building, housing 13 well-lit and well-ventilated classrooms on each floor. We have full-fledged and well-equipped laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Computer Science, Atal Tinkering Lab, Library, Auditorium, Prayer and Meditation Hall, and a Sports Room.

We, in the nursery section, have adopted the policy “Learn through Activities”. Our child-friendly environment gives them freedom to explore, question and learn. We have an array of age-appropriate educational toys to develop their Psycho- Motor Skills, plenty of art work to hone their creative skills and games to develop their social skills.

Our Story-telling sessions enhance their vocabulary, while Role play and short skits by students themselves help them express their imagination. It also sets a sense of confidence within them at this young age. We conduct special weekly hands-on activities for students to learn a skill or investigate a fact and we celebrate festivals as a part of our ‘culture and tradition’ activity.

Our Educational Excursions are fun-filled, practical learning experiences. A trip to the post office or to the bank and a visit by a doctor, farmer or policeman gives the students a better understanding of different professions.

We impart quality education through Smart Classrooms equipped with interactive boards which help students to actively participate, explore, and learn, as audio-visual technology is very appealing and makes conceptual learning easier.

In our Primary School, alongside regular classes to teach subjects, we also conduct Bala Vikas classes every Tuesdays and Thursdays. It is a child development programme conducted by the Sathya Sai Organization, for students to learn pure human values, Indian Culture, Sathya Sai Culture and thus, help them lead a sincere and confident life. This program is aimed to make children of today blossom into responsible citizens and leaders of tomorrow. We conduct District level, State level and Nation level exams regularly.

The Atal Tinkering Lab is an initiative by AIM, NITI Aayog, Government of India. It is a sub-mission under Atal Innovation Mission of India. It is designed to equip High School students with the 21st-century skills such as design thinking, critical thinking, computational thinking, digital fabrication, and so on. Our lab provides tools and equipment for students to work with, conduct experiments, nurture innovative mindset, experience and understand the concept of STEM (i.e. Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), Robotic Science, Coding, Artificial Intelligence etc.

National Olympiad Exams are competitive exams conducted at school level to help assess students’ strength and weakness in English, Mathematics, Science and General Knowledge. We provide special coaching to students right from Grade 1 with an aim to help them improve their knowledge, logical, analytical and higher order thinking and also to prepare them for competitive exams.

To support and assist teachers, The Vidya Vahini Programme offers training, teaching aids and printed lesson plans. This unique programme was approved by the Bhagavan himself. It functions on a unique IIEP × 4C Framework, i.e., Insightful, Inspiring, Enjoyable, and Participative at the Classroom, Corridor, Campus, and Community levels, which form the four pillars of learning.

We have partnered with Prayoga Institute to enhance the quality of learning in line with NEP 2020. It has helped us to identify pedagogical challenges and develop solutions.

Kriya is an enquiry-based model of learning Science for students of classes 6th to 10th. It also offers content for experiential learning, which helps students apply their knowledge in real-world situations.

Armed with a strong foundation and coached by dedicated teachers, our students of the last eight batches have successfully graduated SSLC examinations. We are proud to state that we have achieved 100% results with only distinctions and first class.

All the students are grouped into four houses: Sathya, Dharma, Shanthi, and Prema to foster healthy competition in all spheres of learning.

The best-performing House is awarded a trophy every month.
